The Zoo

The Zoo

We decided to head to the zoo, so we took a few friends with us. It was great to be outside in the fresh air and spending time with family and friends. The kids like to see all the animals and the adults like to let them run!

Doug helped the kids look at the turtles in the pond.

Daisey  had a great time watching the Giraffes.

They loved each other, and looking
at the  animals!

The kids had such a great time looking at all the animals! We brought a picnic lunch and sat to eat by the Giraffes. We walked around to see all the animals. The Lions and Tigers were out laying in the sun and the Otters were busy playing in their little pond. It was a great day with each other and we were glad to have been able to bring some good friends along too!

ZooLights

ZooLights!

We got a pass to the Zoo this year, and after Thanksgiving they put animal lights up around the zoo! We thought we'd try it out. It turned out to be a lot of fun! There were all sorts of animals. It was cold, so we got some hot chocolate!

Daisey got all bundled up and
ready to go look at the lights!

The Giraffe lights were Joyce's favorite! The Momma moved down to touch the baby's head. It was sweet!
This was a true Arizona display!
 Wild Pigs, or Javelina!
It was fun to see all the things
 they put into lights!

 Daisey loved the peacocks!
All the colors were so bright.
These blue lights were wrapped
around Saguaro cacti! Joyce thought it
was pretty cool, and risky!

We always have a good time together as a family, but this was one of our favorites. It's certainly something that we'll be doing again. As we walked around, there was Christmas music playing, and cheer in the air. Nothing better to get us in the Christmas mood.

A Trip to the Aquarium

We took a little trip to the Aquarium when Doug's Mom came to visit for the weekend. Daisey had a fun time showing Grandma all the fun things and pointing out all the different kinds of fish and sharks that we could see.  Daisey loved the pink and red fish.

Daisey has always loved the water, just like me. This time at the Aquarium she was a little timid because we had just finished watching Shark Week on the Discovery channel. Being in the 360 degree tunnel and watching the sharks swim all around her made her just a little nervous. Of course, everything is better when Daddy is around!

The aquarium had a JellyFish exhibit that we walked through. It was neat to see all the different kinds of Jelly-fish. Some smaller that button mushrooms! They were beautiful to watch and even prettier with the different color lights on them.  We enjoyed all the different kinds of fish, we even saw some seahorses!
Daisey had a good time in the bubble tube in the middle of a tank full of Dory and Nemo fish!

We had such a good time at the Aquarium and then out to eat with Grandma. It's always fun to get out and about with Family!

A little Vacation

We took the week Doug had off and went back home, to Utah, to visit our family that we hadn't seen in about a year. We got to celebrate Daisey's birthday with all her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Grandparents. She had such a good time playing with all of them! Not to mention the amount of presents...
Daisey and her cousin, getting ready to blow out candles.

While we were in Utah we went on a mini-camping trip up north and enjoyed some much cooler, enjoyable time outdoors. Of course we did one of Doug's favorite things to do. Fish. We had a good time watching Daisey look at the fish and play outside

Joyce and her fish.
I caught my first fish on a fly-fishing pole and actually caught a fish before Doug did! That night we broke out the marshmallows and chocolate and made s'mores. It was good to finally get to introduce Daisey to "camping" even though we stayed in a tiny cabin with plumbing and mattresses. She had the chance to get dirty and that's part of having fun camping.

Joyce and Daisey feeding the horse.
When we got back from camping we took Daisey to her Great-Grandpa's to ride her first horse. She was a little nervous at first, but once she realized she could feed her it changed everything! She got to ride with her Great-Granpda, Doug, and me. It was great to watch her discover something new and learn that she liked it.

The next day we got back on the airplane and flew back to Arizona. It was a really quick trip, but we had a lot of fun. Hopefully it won't be another year before we get back "home" to visit.

Until next time,
Doug and Joyce

Go Diamondbacks!

Diamondbacks!

Doug had a partial day off on Memorial Day, so we did what any American family would do. We found a baseball game to go to! We love the energy and excitement of a good game. So we took the time together to enjoy a great American Past-time.

So, I came up with a creative way to do Daisey's hair, with help from Pinterest of course! It matched the star on the front of her shirt, and matched the mood of the day. It was fun and cute to do. She thought it was pretty cool!

I love singing "Take me out to the ballgame", eating peanuts, and sipping a nice cold Coke.  Daisey had a fun time watching all the people that were watching the game.We really enjoyed being together as a family the most, the baseball game just gave us a reason to get out of the house and do something different.

The game was pretty good too. We had to leave early so Doug could get to work. It was still awesome to do something so "American" on such a wonderful holiday. We are glad that we're American, we live free because of the brave! Happy Memorial Day, and let's play ball!

Nascar

Nascar!

"Let's go Racin' Boys!"

We love to watch Nascar. Usually we get to watch it on TV, and to be honest, it's not that exciting. But, on the rare occasion, we get to go to the track and watch. This time was the first time that Daisey got to come with. She didn't enjoy it as much and we did, but she's 3. We had a good time sitting in the "family area" which gave us more room for Daisey to play and find things to do while still letting us enjoy the race. It was a good race day.

Daisey and Daddy eating Oreo's. Daisey's just a tiny bit silly....

We had such a good time. The weather was good, and it was a decent race. We brought snack and drinks, and of course some entertainment for the kiddo! After the excitement of it all, Daisey just couldn't stay awake one more minute...
Fast Asleep after the race in the car.

Welcome

We are glad that you have stopped here to learn more about our little family of 3 and learn about what life would be like for your child in our home. We have a happy, imaginative, and loving home. It will always be a place of love, laughter, and encouragement. We try to experience the awesome things in life and will strive to help a child do the same thing. We will help them reach for the stars, no matter how high they may be.

We feel strongly that family is an important part of who we are and of our success. We know that without the support of our family, we wouldn't be who and where we are today. We hope to have openness in our home about adoption, adoption stories, and the adoption process. We readily discuss adoption with our daughter, Daisey. It's important for her, and future children,  to know where they came from and that they are loved.

Right now is a hard time for you and we wish you the comfort and strength that you will need now and in the future. It takes a person of tremendous strength and love to consider placing a baby for adoption. We are thankful for your decision and have a deep respect for you. It is a courageous thing. If there is anything more you would like to know about us, don't hesitate to contact us. We would love to talk and share with you anytime.
